One of my favorite events of the year is about to take place here in the desert this March 18-25. Fashion Week El Paseo is a wonderful experience; If you have never been I highly recommend you PURCHASE TICKETS HERE for an evening or the entire week.
Saturday March 18 is opening night! One of my favorite nights of the entire event. This evenings show features three designers. Opening with Christopher Bates, a contemporary mens fashion designer. Second is Adam Lippes (ok, I’m a little too excited to see this collection) he will be sharing his luxury women’s sportswear. Finally the night comes to and end with Mikael D who is known for glamorous high-end designs.
Sunday starts with a trunk show (which is free and awesome) sharing looks and pieces featured from the show the night before. There are 4 trunk shows throughout the week which give you a chance to meet the designer, view and shop the pieces directly from the runway and mingle with other fashion lovers. Sunday’s trunk show is from 11am to 4pm and it’s located on the second level of the Gardens on El Paseo.
The show this evening is a one of a kind, unforgettable event. The models of this show are the four-legged kind. Benefiting the Humane Society of the Desert via live auction this show will have fashions for pets by Orostani Couture.
MONDAY is for locals
Ok, not just for locals but this show not only features pieces from local stores and designers we have here in the desert but benefits a local charity. The Girlfriend Factor is a local nonprofit organization providing education grants to women. Participating stores include BB.one, Grayse, Out of Your Closet and El Paseo jewelers. This evenings show starts at 7pm.
TUESDAY – Project Runway Takeover
Starting at 10:30 am at The Agency Lounge (free and open to all) you can have a chance to meet Michael Costello and other designer from Project Runway.
The evening show is one of the best of the week (in my opinion). I love Michael Costello’s designs and gowns and the entire feeling of his shows. Other star designers from Project Runway will be sharing the pieces as well. Ticket holders also have access to an awesome after party.
WEDNESDAY – FIDM on the Runway
From 10:30-2:30 there will be another trunk show giving you an opportunity to shop the runway and meet the designers. For me personally the trunk shows are so much fun and since they are free you can bring your friends along!
The show this evening is another “MUST ATTEND” event. The Fashion Institute of Interior Design & Merchandising presents some of their top students in the design field. Each designer is a graduate of FIDM and created their own collection to showcase in Wednesdays event. Cocktail party starts at 7pm and the show begins at 8:30pm.
THURSDAY Luncheon & Style
Fashion Week wouldn’t be complete without a luncheon and this one is set to be fabulous! Enjoy food plus fashion from designer Rosetta Getty. Seating is limited so don’t forget to purchase a ticket (email firstname.lastname@example.org)! This event is held at the Ritz-Carlton in Rancho Mirage from 11am to 2pm.
Fashion for a great cause – This evenings show benefits Palm Valley School. Enjoy stunning pieces by Rosetta Getty. There is an after party for all ticket holders as well at Wally’s Desert Turtle which is an amazing restaurant. If you are in the area I definatly recommend this place for fine dining and an elegant atmosphere.
FRIDAY | Saks Fifth Avenue
From 10:30-2:30 enjoy a pop up shop and chance to shop the Rosetta Getty collection on the second story of the Gardens El Paseo. The show for the evening features styles for men and women from Saks Fifth Avenue. Finale by Italian designer, Etro. This is a great show for locals and those who love Saks. See something you love on the runway? You can probably pick it up in stores.
SATURDAY – Grand Finale
The day starts at 10am with a trunk show featuring looks directly off the runway. Shop your favs from Saks Fifth Avenue, this event is free so bring a friend.
The last runway show of the week. Another night I suggest getting tickets to, this show is a favorite of mine. Fashion Week has never disappointed with an energetic, unforgettable last night. I know that I cannot wait to see the collection by CD Greene, a New York designer who styles celebrities like Audrina Patridge, Jessica Simpson and Vanessa Hudgens.
The last trunk show of the entire event! Another free, fun shopping experience giving you the chance to shop the looks of the runway. This event is from 12-4pm and it’s located at the Gardens on the second level. CD Greene will be there personally for consultations and to present his pieces.
You can find all the info plus get your tickets here! I hope to see you at this years Fashion Week!
